I have a lot of people to say Thank You to this year. Thank you... to all the people who have invested in our services. It is a great pleasure to work with you. Thank You... to all our loyal clients who are recommending us to other friends and family. We greatly appreciate it! Thank you... to the clients who have given their valuable time to talk to people who are considering working with us. Your generosity has helped us. While helping a lot of people succeed in their business and personal lives. Thank you... to the clients who have taken time to send us a testimonial and their success story. However, we would like to hear from you! Please send your testimonial or success story to doug@dougmyrick.com. I especially want to thank my loving wife, Kathy... and all my family for their encouragement and support over the years! And to my daughter Molly Myrick... and to my grandson Lucas... I appreciate all that you do. I could not and would not want to do this without you.
And I Greatly
Appreciate All Of Your Prayers!
But, most of all I want to thank everyone who has been praying
for me over the past 2 years. Because, on December 28, 2017... I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. However, today I have no
evidence of cancer!
And, for any of you that are also dealing with cancer, or know someone who is dealing with cancer... I highly recommend HCA Healthcare. Because I don't know if I would be here today except for their help. HCAoffers a lot more than just Chemo Treatments and Surgery. They are some of the friendliest and most supportive people I have ever met. If you have any questions about HCAor just need someone to talk to... then do not hesitate to give me a call! 941-661-9323 Doug Myrick
This article will show you how to jailbreak Firestick.
By doing this, you will have access to thousands of free movies, TV shows, sports, live channels and more.
The same process will also work for the Fire TV, Fire TV Cube, and televisions running the Fire TV OS.
This guide is compatible with the new Fire TV Stick 4K which was released on October 31st, 2018.
The Amazon Firestick has become the most popular streaming device available today due to its low price and simple jailbreak process.
What is jailbreaking an Amazon Firestick, you may ask? It is the process of removing restrictions imposed by the manufacturer to allow for the installation of unauthorized software.
Technically, we aren’t actually jailbreaking the device because we aren’t installing modified firmware. But, this is how new cord-cutters search for this topic and that is how we came up with the title for this post. We are glad you found us!
When jailbreaking most electronics such as phones or tablets, many times we are required to install modified firmware. You can think of firmware as the operating system for the device. Fortunately, we aren’t required to do that with a Fire TV Stick!
Once we have jailbroken the Firestick, we can side-load applications onto the device that we normally can’t get through the Amazon App Store. By doing so, your Firestick will have access to thousands of free movies, TV shows, live channels, sports, and more.
What Stores Carry Firesticks?
If you don’t own a Fire TV Stick and you want to get started with this tutorial today, I have you covered. Below are some retail stores that may carry this device.
Best Buy, Staples, Target, Fry’s, Radio Shack, Gamestop, B and H, Amazon Books, Electronic Express, Shopko, Toys R Us, Sears, P.C. Richard & Son, Meijer, HH Gregg, Fred Meyer.
I would suggest placing a phone call to the retail stores listed above to ensure the Firestick is in stock.
If you don’t have one of these stores near, you may purchase the Firestick directly through the Amazon Website.
History of Jailbreaking Firestick
The Firestick comes equipped with the Amazon App Store, which allows us to install applications easily onto our streaming device. Each of the applications within this App Store must be approved by Amazon.
Since the Firestick was first released in 2014, Amazon has taken a strong stance against applications that promote free and low-cost streaming capabilities. The most notable ban was in June of 2015 when they removed the popular Kodi media center application from their app store.
When Kodi was removed from the Amazon App store, users started jailbreaking their Firesticks so that they could still install this popular application. This also opened the flood-gates for many other free and low-cost streaming applications that could be installed as well.
Most people don’t realize that the Amazon Fire TV Stick is powered by the Android operating system. This differs from other popular streaming devices such as the Roku and Apple TV where those boxes use their own OS.
Since the Firestick is powered by the Android operating system, it opens up a world of endless possibilities for those who jailbreak it. Android is the most popular operating system in the world to date with over two billion active users. Because of this popularity, there are literally millions of Android applications available and they can all be installed onto a jailbroken Firestick.
Before learning how to jailbreak Firestick, you must register for a free Amazon account if you haven’t already done so. You will use your Amazon login credentials when first setting up your Fire TV Stick.
Jailbreak Firestick Instructions
Below, you will find both a video tutorial and screenshot guide that will show you how to jailbreak a Firestick.
We suggest watching the video tutorial first because they go through important details that you won’t find within the screenshot guide.
Video Tutorial
Important: The new Fire TV/Stick update that was recently released changes the location of where you turn off App Usage Data. You can find the App Usage Data under Settings / Preferences / Privacy Settings. We also suggest turning off Data Monitoring as well in the same area. Older Fire TV devices or models that haven’t been updated won’t include these privacy options, proceed to installing the alternative app store if these are now available on your Firestick/Fire TV.
The video below was created prior to this update so you will see them turning this option off in a different location.
Screenshot Guide
The following screenshot tutorial will take you through the simple steps necessary of how to jailbreak Firestick.
Step 1 – Go to the home screen of your Firestick by clicking the home button on remote
Step 2 – Hover over the Settings menu item
Step 3 – Click Preferences
Step 4 – Click Privacy Settings – you may not see any of these options on older Fire TV devices or systems that haven’t been updated, if so proceed to How to Install Alternative App Store below.
Step 5 – Turn off both “Device Usage Data” and “Collect App Usage Data”
Go back to previous screen by clicking back button on remote after changing these settings to “Off”.
Step 6 – Click Data Monitoring
Step 7 – Turn off Data Monitoring
Note: If you are using a newer Fire TV/Stick, you will access the “App Usage Data” section by navigating to Fire TV Settings / Preferences / Privacy Settings. I would also suggest going into the “Data Monitoring” tab and turn off that option in there as well.
Step 8 – Click back button, return to the previous screen and click the My Fire TV
Step 9 – Click Developer Options
Step 10 – Click Apps from Unknown Sources
Step 11 – Click Turn On button
We have now jailbroken our Firestick by allowing for the installation of applications that aren’t available within the Amazon App Store.
Stay tuned for future posts with suggestions on which applications you should install onto your jailbroken Fire TV Stick so you can enjoy movies, TV shows, live channels, sports, and much more.

Thanksgiving is just
around the corner and it's a great time to spend with family and
friends. Unfortunately, it can turn tragic if you don’t take proper
fire safety measures to protect your loved ones. Thanksgiving is the leading day
of the year for home fires involving cooking equipment. In 2016, U.S. fire
departments responded to an estimated 1,570
home cooking fires on Thanksgiving.
Follow these easy tips to protect your family and friends from
tragedy:
Keep a fire extinguisher close.
Keep an eye on children while cooking as the stove
will be hot. Kids should stay at least three feet away from appliances,
hot food and liquids.
If you fry a turkey, do it away from the home and
make sure the bird is completely thawed before cooking.
Don’t overfill the fryer with cooking oil.
I hope you enjoy this most wonderful time of year with your
family and loved ones!
Do you ever get a feeling like someone is observing your
online activity? Those annoying commercials ads around
the Internet are making it quite impossible to stream and surf in peace.
News about cybersecurity and data theft
are everywhere, and at the end of the day, no one wants to be exposed to these
unpleasant and dangerous threats.
Usually, people don't understand the
importance of safety until they find themselves in danger. You don't have to take the risk
anymore!

That's
what Disney+ added to their new streaming platform in one day.
10 million new subscribers.
Which is pretty crazy when you do the math... it's either $6.99 a month or you
can sign up for the annual plan for one payment of $69.99.
Now, I don't know how much Disney was making by allowing Netflix or Amazon to
stream their movies, but it's pretty safe to say this is a profitable venture
for them.
In doing a little digging to share this with you, I found out that Netflix
currently has 158 million customers.
In total.
Disney did 10 million in one day.
Naturally, there will be some attrition and not all of the people who signed up
and were on the 7-day trial will become customers, but this just goes to show
you the power of the Disney brand.
Even though streaming television has been around for a while it feels like this
is just the beginning as these big companies start their own services (AppleTV+
just launched at the beginning of November). Disney has a brand that is prolific with quality. A
friend was recently telling me about a trip to an amusement park in another
state (small park, midwest state). While the park was festive for the holidays,
they said it didn't come close to the quality of a Disney park.
Two subtle differences were the restrooms and the employees.
The restrooms looked and felt like they had been neglected, whereas the
restrooms at Disneyland are always cleaned (it's not uncommon to see a Disney
'cast member' nearby or in the restrooms).
Disney also ensures there is a trashcan every 30 feet so less garbage ends up
on the ground (even though it would be picked up pretty quickly if it did).
Since all of the Disney parks have 'lands' (Frontierland, Tomorrowland, etc.),
all the employees (cast members) uniforms match where they work and are
expected to stay in character.
Long story short, Disney has set the bar pretty high when it comes to their
brand, what they represent, and how their customers feel.
Whether it's visiting one of their parks, watching a movie, or reading a
treasured Disney classic to a child...there's something magical about what
Disney has created.
And it all stemmed from one man's idea and dream.
Are you ready to share our recent QSTV partnership idea and dream with the world?

According to a recent survey by Paycor, 61 percent of CFOs do not think HR impacts the bottom line in their organizations. Another 43 percent of businesses surveyed don’t track how much it costs to hire a new employee.
As a manager or HR rep, you might want to rip your hair out after hearing those statistics because you know how important recruiting and HR are to the overall health of a business.
You might not change the C-suite or a business owner’s’ mind overnight, but there are a few strategies you can employ to help executives understand why they should care about employee retention.
Engagement, Retention, and Profit
A CEO, CFO, or small business owner might not care about employee engagement, but they will care about how profits are impacted when employees leave. It’s HR’s job to help them see that employee engagement and employee retention and directly related.
You can do that by making that line between retention, engagement, and profit as clear as possible. Luckily, Gallup’s State of the American Workplace report does a fantastic job of outlining that very point succinctly and in a way that will resonate with your leadership.
The report says:
“Employees who are engaged are more likely to stay with their organization, reducing overall turnover and the costs associated with it. They feel a stronger bond to their organization’s mission and purpose, making them more effective brand ambassadors. They build stronger relationships with customers, helping their company increase sales and profitability.”
Back up broad statements like that with examples from within your organization. Highlight an employee who is engaged and successful, and contrast that with someone who was disengaged and left the company.
The combination of broad metrics and individual stories represents a new mode of storytelling for HR professionals — and one that might break through to executives who previously had not spent much time thinking about employee engagement or retention.
The Cost of Turnover
Even if you can’t get executives on board with buying into employee retention, perhaps you can persuade them that employee retention matters for financial reasons when you consider how much it costs to hire and fire employees.
We’ve found that the cost of hiring an employee who does not work out can cost up to 10 percent of that employee’s annual salary. This cost becomes even higher if you are working with a recruiter to fill an open position.
A good place to start here is working out what the recruiting costs are in your organization. Once you have an idea of that, compare it to the number of employees who leave and the productivity loss that happens as a result.
Again, there are opportunities here to mix broad data sets with specific workplace examples. How was one department impacted when someone left unexpectedly? Was there a project that fell behind? Or did everyone else on the team have to work crazy hours to make up for it?
The Paycor report also revealed a disconnect between employees and executives about why people leave an organization. Executives say the most common reason is because of compensation, but employees overwhelmingly say it’s because of bad managers.
About 75 percent of voluntary turnover occurs because of bad management. This number should be high enough to shock any executive into action. With their support, you can begin using your resources to address management issues to increase employee retention and engagement.
The First Step
Assembling the large-scale data on turnover and combining it with specific employee examples takes time, but is well worth it in the end if you can convince the C-suite or business owner that they should devote resources to employee retention.
